Gold Leaf Lettering

Gold Leaf Lettering is made from real gold that has been hammered into extremely thin sheets.

Gold Leaf Lettering is a true art form, and the techniques used have largely remained the same for hundreds of years.

Mainly used on glass, mirrors and honour boards. We mostly use 23 carat Gold leaf but we have used 12 carat Gold leaf & white Gold.

When signwriting a Gold Leaf honour board we first hand sign write the lettering using Gold size then sheets of Gold leaf are placed over the semi dried Gold size. The next process is to remove the excess Gold by brushing it with a Gold mop or cotton wool.
